Up was excellent, and I suggest you see it.

As for me, doing okay, just busy with work and some other stuff, trying to get through the end of the month. Once July hits, I should hopefully have more time to elaborate more on the chaos. Until then, enjoy the start of summer this weekend. See Up, and watch for those squirrels...

...but, a new one is in the queue - I managed to get a heck of a setup for a new vehicle, having a dealership purchase from auction based upon my request, and undercutting the other dealerships by a couple grand. We are already pre-approved at a good rate through the finiancing department, so unless something strange happens, I'll have a new vehicle by Thursday night. I'm looking forward to having a new ride...

The back of his neck warmed as the sun peaked above the horizon, its rays combating the cold sweat that had been earned with from his morning routine. Arduluth turned towards the sunrise in response, closing his eyes as he turned, keeping him from being blinded but also allowing him to just lean against the rail of the galleon, absorbing the heat of the sun in peace. After a few moments, the elf rolled his head in a circle, attempting to keep the relief that his morning workout had brought to him and easing the discomfort that he had felt of late. His body ached, physically from the rough workouts with Porter and Serin lately, as the practice blows that landed did not pass as easily as he remembered from past spars, and mentally, as the current situation and decisions of late had his mind spinning most of the time, from the fortune teller to the new situations involving the Old One. Then again, as Arduluth opened his eyes to look at the dawn, he bit his bottom lip as the isolation of the workout was passing and the truth of things slowly sneaked out for the corners of the head he had temporarily concealed them at reemerged as the thoughts in his mind.
Turning away from his solace, Arduluth walked over to the cleared spot on the deck of the vessel he had used for his predawn exercises, glancing towards the shore that was becoming visible in the distance, a sign that he and his companions would be home in the Vesve within a tendays time. Of course, with the new challenges that awaited the Swords, how long their homecoming would be was questionable. He kicked up the two sparring blades with practiced grace, catching one in each hand as he retraced his earlier route back to his cabin to clean up and ready himself for the coming day.
Arriving at the suite, Arduluth saw his breakfast trays removed already, as the staff aboard the vessel had treated them beyond what the duskblade was use to experiencing normally. Even compared to the Queen, he had never seen such service before. It was a welcomed experience after the past month of challenges him, and the others had faced – they all had deserved it. Especially her.
Leaning against the door for a moment to try and discern any noise inside, the elf quietly opened the door and entered as silently as possible, glancing about the chamber to take measure of things. The bed was in a pile of disarray, as she had tossed and turned once again throughout the night, which was all so obvious through his reverie even. He set the sparring blades gently on the dresser to minimize the sound, frowning at the mostly untouched breakfast tray on it, only some toast half-heartedly eaten, even though the cuisine on the vessel rivaled some of the best he had ever tasted. And, once again, as always it seemed lately, his wife sat cross-legged in mediation on the rug of the floor, still as a statue, lost in her troubles.
Arduluth opened his mouth to speak, but decided against it, as he had run out of words to say. He had exhausted himself to try and get any type of change in Narii’s troubling state of late, but all the ideas he thought were foolproof had, if he was lucky, brought only slight moments of reprieve. Turning and reaching for the door handle to leave her to her mediations, but he flinched away from it as if a hot pan in reaction. He stood there for what seemed like an eternity, his mind working, before turning around and quietly moving around the mediating favored of Corellon. Placing himself between her and the window she had used as a point to face during her soul-searching, the duskblade sat in front of her, mimicking her form and posture with ease, as he had begun similar exercises after seeing how they relaxed her to help him through his duskblade training.
Finally in position, Arduluth closed eyes after taking a few moments examining Nariilyselia, and drew in a depth breath and exhaled to calm himself. It was only then that he carefully turned his hands opposite Narii’s to gently grasp her upturned ones, lending his silent support…

The thin column of white smoke, trailing above the large tree in the distance, was both a comfort and a burden, as the elf continued to trudge through the snowdrifts that took refuge in the Circle of Serenity, burying the bottoms of the numerous statues to the faith that encompassed it. Assuming that the thin column of smoke meant the large hearth's fire was burning down in its fight to stave off the cold of winter, Arduluth changed his direction and headed to the stables he had constructed in the fall, after the unfamiliar peaceful summer that had passed, with the Vesve seemingly radiant in the aftermath of the Battle of Dawn's Fall, with only the matters of resolving the issues that needed to be addressed after peace was won, with a welcomed reprise from the Court and Duskblades enjoying his and Narii's present from Adina, a trip to the Kingdom of Celene. The elf's face twisted as a gust of wind blew hard snow into his frozen face, as his memories of the summer were playing with him in his cold misery back from Flameflower. Entering the stables, the interior provided a windbreak, warming him seemingly immediately, and the neighing of horses greeting him in arrival.

Shaking himself clean of snow clutching to him as if they were gnats during the summer, Arduluth threw back his hood, twisting his head back and forth to free his hair from his cloak as he approached the corralled horses. The stallion and mare moved to the edge of the wooden gate, snorting in seeming accusations at the elf who moved forward slowly, in an attempt to mock them.

"So, you two think you have me all figured out, huh? I think not..."

Arduluth chuckled as the shiny, grayed-hair mare attempted to dig into his jacket. He pushed against her seemingly silver-haired neck, mocking her. "Van'Vala, stop it. I'll let your owner have her way with me, but I do not have to take this treatment from you." Snorting in response, the mare backed off slightly, only to allow the brown-haired stallion to renew the assault. Sighing in mock defeat, the duskblade threw up in hands defeat, before reaching into his jacket. "Fine Cor'Tulari!," playfully retorted Arduluth, pushing the stallion's nose away," I spoil you two way too much - you've come to expect special behavior!" With ease, the elf produced two fresh apples, protected on the trip and still in good condition, and offered one to each of the horses, while brushing their necks gently with his gloved hand. After a few moments, Arduluth smirked and backed away, heading to an attached woodshed to gather some firewood to bring into the Hold, as he assumed whoever was there had forgotten to feed the fire, judging by the thin column of smoke. Lifting a bundle of firewood over his shoulder, he headed out of the stable, and towards Sword's Hold.

Pushing the door in, the swordsman pushed the door in, and shook himself of any leftover snow before heading down the stairs with his load to restock the fireplace that Arathur designed and built this fall, it's massive size and engineering able to heat both the underground and aboveground structures of the Sword's home. Reaching the main hall, Arduluth dropped his load of fuel while removing his damp cloak, hanging it from a hook near the fireplace. A small sense of loneliness hit, as the coals of a dying fire showed that whoever was tending it had not returned to it in some time. Even though it was and always would be home, moments like these struck Arduluth, knowing that Arathur, Planter, and others were not here anymore, even though they all had quarters here yet. Sighing, the elf began to restock the fireplace, stirring the coals to catch his load of firewood aflame, bringing new warmth to the room as he then stacked the extra wood nearby for later use...

I am very pleased that Obama won last night - McCain lost my vote late last year/early this year with a fundamental shift to the right to win his party's nod, along with other key issues that I felt were irresponsible platforms for the future of the country. I gave him the benefit of the doubt to win me back, but he never did.

Otherwise, the wonderfully quotable Michelle Bachman won re-election in my district, claiming that one of the keys to her victory came from "her tirelessly efforts that lead to reducing the price of gas to under $2.00 a gallon". Most people were clued into her craziness when she called to investigate those in Congress who coudl be 'un-American', but she's had gems of logic the past two years that have driven me nuts. She had lost my vote well before her national sound bite, and I'm rather miffed that she got re-elected. I'm sure I'll be shaking my head plenty of times during her new term, praying she screws up even more so that people finally get some smelling salts on whom they've sent to Washington for them...

I'm getting my bonus check today - what should I spoil myself with? My wife got a golf club worth more than my entire set, so I'm rebelling a bit and getting something with a portion of the check (the rest will be used to pay off the remainder of a credit card and Christmas presents - we've finally gotten a little ahead, so we are trying to stay that way with the economy - luckily, my place of business is doing really well right now - thank god for government contracts). Plus, I've been getting banged around like a punching bag lately, so I'm rewarding myself for the abuse.

So, options/thoughts include a refurbished laptop for myself, a MP3 player, or maybe attacking the music section of a store to get my more recent likes in my collection. Maybe I'm missing the obvious - whatca all think?

"Fight on my men,' Sir Andrew said, 'a little I'm hurt, but not yet slain. I'll just lie down and bleed a while then I'll rise to fight again."

- Excerpt from a 16th century Scottish poem, quoted by Marv Levy after the Bills lost the 1990 Super Bowl, which became their motto. How cool is it to have a English Literature graduate as a head coach?

... as we are beginning to receive $3 million dollars in new IT equipment (you know, I'd expect more than the few cabinets worth we are getting - just seems skimpy for that much money). I was late with commenting on the fact that the Bills are 3-0 (thanks to them shaking off their typical response to being that far behind in past seasons - panicing and losing, instead of remaining calm and toughing out a win). For only the second time in Bills history, the Bills won a game on the last play of a game (the other? Jim Kelly's QB sneak against the Fins back in '99). I'm glad they pulled it out - Mr Scalise would have given me no end of grief for them losing. Now, as long as they stay level headed this week, they should (*knock on wood*) beat the Rams, who are looking rather poor this season. Should hopefully be a fun game to watch.

Otherwise, I spent a late night out Monday visiting Tony, Cisco, and Cisco's wife Monday night, as they were both in town at the same time for different family matters. It was good to see them both again. Otherwise, TV season has started again (and the DVR is already filling up, as I've not had time to watch any of them this week) and we are attempting to finish up the painting of the front porch and other cedar woodwork before winter. Hopefully I can also get the swing set done too.

With that, I bide you all good day and week - may post later in the week, when life slows down. Heck, maybe even if it doesn't slow down...

Well, my wife is again gone for the weekend. Last weekend, she surprised Kassi with taking her to the Guthrie to check out "little House on the Prairie", and left Alicia with me to our own devices (including a game of bowling [Alicia had a blast, but the minute travel of the bowling ball was painful at times - it was about 45 minutes to get one game in with just me and her bowling; I need to bowl more often, as I couldn't break 150 like normal], rainbow pancakes at Perkins [Alicia's choice], and shopping at Target [netting her a musical Dora book]). This weekend is "Girls' Weekend" for Kim, meaning a weekend in Brainard with the Lindenfelser women and some of their friends - Kim deserves it, but it leaves me with the girls for the weekend. Sunday is pretty simple, as I plan on hitting my parents in the afternoon (no way I'll miss the Bills game right now) and Friday is likely a game/movie night with them - the question is what do we do Saturday when Mom's away. I'm leaning towards the Ren Festival, as I've been to it yet this year, and think they might have a blast there. Otherwise, I'm not sure what to do. Any suggestions?

Cause they pulled out a calm, impressive victory in Jacksonville, where the heat was near 100 degrees and all the breaks went to Jacksonville after the half (Buffalo's offense had only 4 plays the entire quarter (and a good portion of the 4th) and Jacksonville's special teams got one over on the Bills (which does not happen often - it's usually the other way around) with a well-timed on-sides kick. In the past, my Bills would've melted down and lost. This time, I was the one who panicked abit near the end and the Bills remained calm, winning out the day.

2-0 for the season, and let the trash talking begin with Mr. Scalise - the Raiders visit Ralph Wilson Stadium this coming Sunday...
